Emma Zettia Allen, 80, died at her home 5 mi. SE of Hillsboro Saturday night at 9:45 o'clock after an illness of one week. She had been in ill health for several years, but recently suffered a stroke of paralysis. She was born July 20, 1862 near Wallace and had lived in this community all her life. She was the daughter of John and Lucinda Grimes Myers. She married Hiram D. Allen on Aug 29, 1882. She was a memember of the Lutheran church near here. Her husband and 5 sons Ivan and Byron of Hillsboro, FF of New Richmond; Bernard of Detroit & Wilbur of Mishawaka, survive. One daughter, Mrs. Edith Krout of Ft Wayne, 3 grandchildren and 5 great grand children survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at Lutheran Church. Rev I Whitman of Mulberry will be in charge. Burial will be in the Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence. -- kbz

Wallace, March 25 -- Funeral services were held for Mrs. Emma Allen on Tuesday afternoon at the Lutheran Church in charge of the Rev. I. Whitman of Mulberry. During the service, Mrs. Thelma Emick, accompanied by Mrs. Jewel Grimes, sang "Asleep in Jesus" ; The Haven of Rest and "in the sweet bye and bye." The floral tributes were carried by Mrs. Anna Stephenson, Mrs. Kathleen Cummings, Mrs. Mildred Gray; Mrs. Mary Uplinger; Mrs. Verna Garret, Mrs. Margaret Diebert, Mrs. WSilbur Allen, Misses Kathryn Uplinger, Apalma Rudisill and Esther Allen. Pallbearers were Harry Garret, Bob Cummings, Loyd Rudisill, Wilbur Allen, Byron Uplinger and Emory Gray. Burial was made in the Luterhan cemetery. -- kbz
